Prince: in arrivo Originals, un nuovo album di inediti

Prince, Originals: il nuovo album postumo del musicista di Minneapolis, contenente brani scritti da lui per altri artisti.

Prince torna a far sentire la propria voce. È in arrivo a giugno il nuovo disco di inediti del musicista di Minneapolis. Un lavoro postumo che darà un sapore nuovo a brani in realtà già conosciuti al pubblico, essendo stati scritti da Prince per altri artisti negli scorsi anni.

Il titolo di questo nuovo album è Originals e sarà disponibile in anteprima streaming su Tidal dal 7 al 20 giugno, per poi essere pubblicato il 21 giugno. La scelta delle canzoni è opera di Troy Carter e Jay-Z.

Tra i brani presenti nella tracklist di questo nuovo e intrigante lavoro ricordiamo in particolare Manic Monday, scritta per le Bangles, You’re My Love per Kenny Rogers e soprattutto Nothing Compares 2 You, interpretata splendidamente nel 1990 Sinead O’Connor.

Prince will forever be remembered as a commanding live performer, chart-topping recording artist, and music business revolutionary. Yet for all the time he spent in the spotlight over his four-decade-long career, Prince also worked tirelessly behind the scenes to nurture talent and pen songs for the rising artists he respected. • By the mid-1980s, Prince was dominating the charts with songs that he had either recorded, produced for proteges like Vanity 6 and Sheila E., or passed along to other artists like the Bangles and Kenny Rogers. The effect was a complete saturation and transformation of the pop music landscape, with Prince both leading and subverting mainstream culture. • This June, The Prince Estate, in partnership with Warner Bros. Records and TIDAL, will release Originals, a 15-track album featuring 14 previously unreleased recordings that illuminate the vital role Prince played in other artists’ careers. The tracks were selected collaboratively by Troy Carter, on behalf of The Prince Estate, and JAY-Z. • Starting June 7, Originals will stream exclusively on TIDAL for fourteen days. In the spirit of sharing Prince’s music with his fans as he wanted, the album will be available to stream in Master quality via TIDAL’s HiFi subscription tier. Members will be able to hear the recordings just as the Artist intended the tracks to sound. • On June 21st, Warner Bros. Le versioni di Originals

Questo nuovo insieme di capolavori dell’artista di Kiss e Purple Rain sarà pubblicato in formato CD, con un doppio LP da 180 grammi e in edizione limitata Deluxe CD+2 LP a partire dal prossimo 19 luglio.

Un lavoro straordinario che proverà a rendere omaggio a un altro lato, forse meno famoso, della vita artistica di Prince. Se da tutti è infatti ricordato come un eccezionale performer e un musicista pazzesco, in pochi sanno che nel corso della sua carriera si è speso per cercare di lanciare molti talenti da lui rispettati. Ecco quindi che il Prince autore torna a essere protagonista con questa raccolta di grande valore, per la gioia di tutti i suoi fan.
